Wedding Catering Trends Defining 2026

As the 2026 Wedding Season beckons, we have put together the top trends that are set to sizzle!

From nostalgic flavours to interactive dining and extended celebrations, couples are leaning into food as a central part of the guest experience.

The Return of Retro Food

Wedding Cake bakers were well ahead of this trend, with Lambeth Cakes emerging mid-season in 2023, but excitingly, the retro revival has filtered down to Wedding Food too. Nostalgic food heroes that celebrate bold flavours and even bolder aesthetics? It’s no surprise that we like this one!

If you’re not quite ready to commit to a full aspic savoury jelly, how about a subtle nod to days gone by? A canapé reception featuring chicken liver parfait profiteroles with pistachio and cherry, or our tongue-in-cheek take on a pork and piccalilli sandwich, perhaps? For dessert, Black Forest eclairs with Kirsch cream and griottine cherries hit all the right notes.

And if you are ready for aspic jelly, email us immediately – you sound fun!

In Your Tiramisu Era

The Tiramisu takes the title for our most requested dessert for the season ahead, and honestly, it’s no surprise. Translating literally to “Pick me up”, tiramisu earns its name from the heady combination of strong coffee, coffee liqueur, bitter dark chocolate, and indulgent mascarpone. It’s the perfect dessert to transition into evening revelries.

Another poetic quality of Tiramisu is it’s versatility, meaning we can serve the dessert in whatever format works best for your unique celebration. Authentic family-style dishes to the table? Absolutely. Elegant layered glass dishes, served individually to guests? Of course! Miniature Tiramisus circulating alongside coffees (or cocktails…) at the end of your Wedding Breakfast? Obviously, yes!

And then there’s our current obsession, our ‘Wandering Tiramisu’. Served and scooped from Usherette Trays in front of your guests, it adds a layer of interactivity and theatre, and facilitates a fun and informal service style.

Thank you to the ever talented Laura Rosemary Photography for capturing the cover image used here, our ‘Wandering Tiramisu’ out in the wild!

Extended and Enhanced Celebrations

We’ve noticed a significant shift towards multi-day celebrations, and we are very much here for it! A full weekend celebrating love, life and connection in a world otherwise dominated by online communication feels like the ultimate modern-day indulgence.

So many of our favourite venues offer stunning guest accommodation – Pynes House, The Grain Store and Huntsham Court to name just a few – so it’s well worth considering catering options for your house guests during the initial planning stages. We’re always happy to help with illustrative quotes, so get in touch if your budget is getting the better of you.

Naturally, an extended wedding weekend will require additional investment, which is why it’s paramount that you’re present to soak-up every last moment. We’ve a range of menus centred around Friday feasting and Sunday shindigs, so please do get in touch to explore what could work best for you.

Pass the Platter

Of course, our plated dishes are a force to be reckoned with but sharing-style platters and family-style feasting are storming 2026 menus. Much like the rise of the multi-day celebrations, we can’t help ponder if this trend reflects a growing desire for real-life connection in a digital age. But that’s a whole other Blog Post…

This style of dining works particularly well for larger celebrations, as Sharing Style food is typically a more rustic, and therefore more efficient, way to serve food, so definitely consider this style of service if you’ve lots of guests to feed and/or a tight timeline.

As with all our food, our sharing boards focus on quality ingredients and can be adapted (or developed on an entirely bespoke basis) in line with your foodie desires, so email us for a comprehensive list of Sharing Style options that would work, and be seasonal, on your wedding day.
